Skagway

Let me attempt to tell you exactly how I feel. What’s going through my mind… Let’s see if I can explain it correctly.

I HATE BEING SICK!

There goes the vacation of a lifetime, slipping right through my fingers. The ship is now sailing away from Skagway, a port I never got to see. How fair is that?

I have no souvenirs from Skagway. Actually, I have none from any port because I’m not a big souvenir person, but still. At each port I picked up a hat for Rick. I didn’t get to get him one in Skagway. ‘Cuz he really can’t go out without me. He’d never find his way back.

In fact, he went down for a massage about five hours ago and I haven’t seen him since. Heck, he can’t even find his way back to his own room.

And Liz? She didn’t get him a hat because she didn’t stay aboard ship and take care of her ailing parents. Nope, not her. She caught the first train outta Dodge. Literally. Before I even knew what had happened, she had booked herself on the White Pass Railroad into Canada. Yep, my daughter headed to Canada today. While I lay here dying. And while Rick wandered the ship.

She’s so thoughtful.
