My daughter's a-bloggin' too...

...and I snuck a peek at it. In fact, I'm gonna include her blog in my blog list along the right side. It's worth taking a look. She's actually a MUCH better writer than I am.

Her blog has a different spin, though. She loves to go on mission trips and has another one in the works. To Peru. And she started up this blog to keep folks informed about her current plans.

But that's not the most interesting part. She has included a section on people who mean something to her. And I made the list. I'm not #1, but that's okay. As Avis used to say, "We're number two. We try harder." That's me. Number two.

Here's what she said about me:

Kristina Joy Kellar Kahle

My Mommy

My relationship with Mommy is both complex and simple, is both fulfilling and trying, and is a beautiful blessing to my life. Mommy, I’m afraid, bore the brunt of my rebellion in my teenage years. We didn’t always see things from the same perspective, which made getting along a chore. But I’ve grown up quite a bit and learned to understand that her presence in my life is something to be cherished, treasured, and never taken for granted. It’s cliche, but it’s true that Mommy taught me everything I know. From the simple things like how to wrap a Christmas present with finesse and award-worthy style, to how to make choices about my friends and lifestyle that will bring maximum joy and fulfillment in the Lord. Mommy’s most significant quality, however, is the way she handles every oncoming situation with grace, dignity, and courage. I hope she teaches me that someday She has struggled through a less than perfect childhood, the diagnosis and near death of her beloved husband, and raising a family through the trials of job losses, cross-country moves, and the consecutive deaths of parents, siblings, and best friends. My mommy is beautiful.

Oh I am so proud of Elizabeth. She has such a great heart! Now if she could just work on her organizational skills.
