marital bliss

Today, since we are hosting a party at our house on Saturday, Rick and I decided to go shopping. For the important stuff, you know, like toilet paper.

Being somewhat booked all week, we discovered a one hour window tonight to run to the store together to pick up the essentials. But just during that one hour. No one had any time any earlier.

We needed spaghetti noodles, sauce, Kleenex, garlic bread and, yes, toilet paper.

Somehow, I managed to squeeze a lunch break into my day today and headed to the grocery store. But I only had time to pick up the toilet paper. I figured that that truly was the most important thing on the list anyway.

Rick's day was filled with doctor's appointments, phone calls and a report to fill out. He had no time to go to the store... until our "window" tonight. But, like me, he found a minute to run out.

Guess what he picked up? Yes, just the toilet paper.

When I got home from work I was greeted with two bags full of TP. And I had the same stuff in my arms. I laughed, Rick laughed and Elizabeth just shook her head.

"You two really are meant for each other."

And you know what? She's right.

Our bond is as tight as toilet tissue...
