September 8th

It's the night before our wedding, 25 years ago.  All of our out of town guests had arrived and my father was hosting a dinner for Rick and I at their country club/golf course.  It was very nice but I still had so much to do to get ready for the big day that Rick and I had to leave the party early.  I was uneasy, too.  Not afraid, uneasy.  So much to do, so little time left.  Table tags still had to be written, the cake topper needed some finishing touches.  And sometime in there, I needed some sleep.  And thinking back on it all, I can still get anxious.

Twenty-five years later, Rick and I are sitting at Monduel's bar in downtown Dallas at the Hyatt Regency Hotel quietly eating hamburgers and fries.  There's a football game on TV behind Rick and he's trying his best to ignore it.  And I'm typing away on my iPad.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's been good.  We've had a good run.  No, a great run ... and, it ain't over yet!
